BATH CUPBOARD

Cupboard with vintage containers.
I found another vintage style cupboard for the bath. I LOVE these! If you're blessed enough to have a bathroom large enough for one of these you should really consider it! There is plenty of storage for all your bath needs in this cupboard that can be handily put into different compartments: cupboards with doors, cupboards with glass doors, drawers, and open shelves! You can also use the top for even MORE storage.

The vintage style glass jars also add to the vintage look and feel.

Be sure and check out my PINTEREST VINTAGE STORAGE COMMUNITY BOARD for more storage ideas.  Click on  the PINTEREST button on the right sidebar to go there.

The board is open for ANYONE to add their OWN  finds to the board. Just message me on Facebook or e-mail me through this blog to let me know you'd like to be a "member". We can share ideas!

VINTAGE CONTAINERS FOR YOUR BATH

Metal and glass stand with planters used for organizing.
This week I'm sharing vintage bathroom storage ideas.  So here's another cute idea for bringing some organization and vintage style into your bathroom... use vintage planters and glass containers to hold bathroom supplies. The photo here shows how it worked in THIS bath.  I especially love the planter on the lower shelf in the back holding hand towels. Planters  and other containers are easy to find at garage sales often for under $1 so this is also an INEXPENSIVE way to decorate with style. Find a variety of them for a fun and creative display.  This  color also brightens up the bath with its bright yellow!

The little metal and glass cart is cute for holding these bath items. It is small enough to fit most bathrooms...except mine! ( boo ) As I stated in my last post I have a tiny bathroom and have had to come up with  some different ideas for storage which I'll share in a later post.

The other photo posted here shows vintage jars that can hold bath items as well. The glass jars  are holding soaps and bath salts. You could also put cotton balls, Q-tips, and other bath necessities in your vintage containers.

More vintage items used for bath storage and decor.
Using vintage planters and containers  is a creative and inexpensive way to add vintage style to your bathroom. We always have plenty of cute vintage planters and containers at our Hob Nobber sales. Be sure and look for them to add that special vintage feel to YOUR bathroom! No major renovations needed to get that vintage look!

VINTAGE BATHROOM IDEAS

I am GREEN with envy! I would LOVE this light green vintage  storage cupboard in my bathroom. We live in an old home built in 1917 and there is very little room in our bathroom for anything this large. So one of MY challenges is to find  creative storage ideas for towels and other bath supplies.

This week I'll be sharing some vintage  style storage ideas for the bath.

If YOU have something like this in YOUR bathroom, I'd love to hear about it. Leave a comment and share!

ONE STEP AT A TIME

A well-ordered life is like climbing a tower; the view halfway up is better than the view from the base, and it steadily becomes finer as the horizon expands.
William Lyon Phelps

If you're considering the  changes needed to create the well-ordered life it may seem overwhelming in the beginning. As William Phelps says it's like climbing a tower. You're at the bottom and looking up and it looks impossible to climb. But if you take just one step  at a time and baby steps at that,  in no time you'll be feeling "finer" as he says. Even after the FIRST baby step you'll begin to feel the effects of a well-ordered life. You will feel a sense of accomplishment and you'll have a HINT of the feeling of serenity you can have when you bring order into your life and home.

When I married my husband he was a "messy". He was seemingly not bothered by trying to relax  surrounded by a mess of papers and "stuff". Me? I had to have my own little TIDY spot in order to relax and say, read the paper. But after learning to enjoy the "feel" of an orderly space to read and relax, he now knows the difference  and is much MORE SERENE in an area free of clutter. Don't get me wrong, we're not fanatical about it and we're not perfectionists. But we HAVE realized the stress that clutter brings and with simple new habits formed,  we feel calmer and more serene when sitting down to relax in our home. The small beginning of tidying up an area in which to experience the "calm" of an ordered home was the start of our WELL ORDERED LIFE. And it can be YOURS as well.

Remember the view steadily becomes finer as your horizon expands.

ORDERING YOUR LIFE

Hi! And welcome to my newest blog! Hah! Just what I need...another blog! : )

My reason for beginning this blog is  to share ideas and tips on how to order your life and home. I also want to provide a forum for others to share THEIR  ideas as well. I hope you'll follow along and we can learn together! I'll cover topics covering "a well organized home" to "organizing your time and activities" to "putting your finances in order".
Organizing vintage style
Organizing children's toys

Organizing children's clothing
Life is busy! Many households have two parents working outside the home and  yet can still end up with "too much month left at the end of their money". Children are involved in numerous activities and need to be chauffeured to their events. Too-busy families eat meals on the run. Because of the lack of time in the home, there is seemingly less time to create and promote order. Family members end up feeling stressed out and chaotic. Things are forgotten easier and  too much time is wasted looking for lost items. The haven and sanctuary  that your home could provide for you becomes a place to temporarily land and then MOVE ON to the next event.

So what can you do about this? Can you REALLY create order in your home and  life that will help you to live with more calm and less stress?  What does a well-ordered LIFE look like?  How do you get your finances in order? How can you deal with the constant "paper blizzard" problem? What does a well-ordered HOME look like? Can you have spontaneity in a well-ordered life?  Is it complicated to order your home and life? I just want a SIMPLE life...how can I have that? These are just a few of the questions we'll explore in the days, weeks, and months to come.

To get you geared up and thinking about organizing your home, check out my "ORGANIZING" board on PINTEREST.  And if you are a lover of vintage, go to my "VINTAGE ORGANIZING" board. To go there, click on the PINTEREST button on the right sidebar. Be sure and follow me here and on PINTEREST so you don't miss anything. And start your OWN PINTEREST board to begin your own pinning of organizing ideas.

MY interest in organizing began after our second child arrived. Two children does not DOUBLE your work but seems to triple or quadruple it! So I knew I needed to come up with a plan in order to get things done. I even put together a planner to meet my needs and had it printed and sold some copies. With my plan in place I had more freedom to enjoy life more. I didn't feel like I was racing through life. My home became more of a haven for our family. Our lives were orderly and relaxed but not regimented. We left room for spontaneity so our lives were filled with fun and adventure! I was even able to transfer these "orderly skills" to our finances and that in itself was AMAZING! After a period of working my plan and selling my planner,  I was invited to speak to groups about "time management" and added "ordering my time" to  the list of skills I was learning and applying to my life.  Life almost seemed BLISSFUL! Yes, there were the normal struggles that all families work through but CREATING ORDER made things so much more manageable. I've found that since my children have grown life has gotten even busier for families!  And while my life has changed in that I'm now a grandmother, I have NEW challenges in ordering my life! We need to find ways to make life less stressful, more relaxed, and our homes a haven for us to enjoy. I hope that this can be one more place to share our ideas and help to create A WELL ORDERED LIFE!

I hope you'll join me in this new venture and contribute. I'd love to hear what has worked for YOU!
